Google Code Jam is a programming contest where programmers asked to solve several algorithm problems and submit the result to be judged. Since last year, the contest is held in a new format so contestants doesn’t have to program at all to solve the problems (if they like). They may use script, calculator or even solve the problem using hand. I think the main point is how contestant’s approach to a problem.

There will be 3 problems for each round and each problem will have two inputs, a small and big one. A big problem will, obviously, cause problem if our solution is not fast enough or not efficient enough.

The type of the question is pretty similar with one can expect from an ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, an International Olympiad in Informatics, and a TopCoder algorithm track.

The registration has already opened, so if you think you are good enough you can directly register and check the problems from last year for practice. You can also check the result of Code Jam 2008 here.
