As correctly predicted by BlogKindle, the Kindle DX is not shipped internationally. It’s pretty obvious that the reason behind this is to keep the momentum as high as possible.

Beside the size and price (of course), the only difference that I can see is only that the DX supports auto rotate. The price is $489, with shipping and custom it is $606.88 to Germany. Compared to the smaller version’s price of $343.33, it seems so expensive.
And no, Indonesia is still not in the list of shipping destinations.

I think most of you have got the news about Kindle goes global. Well, my first impression is that this is still only for U.S. customers and they will have the convenience of downloading books abroad (with extra fee) when they are in vacation.
It turns out that I’m too skeptical. International can also order Kindle and even better, they can use the GSM coverage in their country for FREE. This is a very good news!
Unfortunately, this is still not the case for Indonesia. No… no… no… Malaysian can’t do that as well. Even if you are in Singapore, you still can’t buy Kindle right now. But Japan, India, Europe, and Africa can start order Kindle from Amazon.com. Of course, you will have to pay custom etc.
So, it goes not that global, but still kind of nice.
UPDATE:
More bad news. Seems that the number of offered books is not the same as what we got in US. The difference is not much, but could be matter much for you.
